WHAT TO EXPECT
Initial Consultation & Paperwork
Please contact us to set up your first appointment. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation with our Intake Specialist to answer your questions and decide together which of our counselors will be a best fit for you. Once you schedule your first session with your counselor, you will receive their initial paperwork electronically.
Your First Session
Sessions are typically 50 minutes, although specific situations and therapies may warrant a longer session. At the end of your first session, you and your counselor will discuss scheduling for future sessions and any further questions you may have about the therapy process. Fees are payable by check or credit card at the end of each appointment.
Telehealth/Video Therapy
Sessions are available via our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform (Telehealth by SimplePractice) or in-person at our office in Ballard. The Simple Practice online video platform is easy and convenient to use. Please reach out to us if you have additional questions about how this works.
Rates & Scholarships
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, and the fee for each session is $135, $160, or $175 - depending on your counselor's level of experience. Fees are payable by check or credit card at the end of each appointment.
REDUCED RATE
Our goal is to make counseling affordable and accessible for all. Because of the generosity of donors and community partners, Bell Tower Counseling is able to offer scholarships for those in need of financial assistance. If you cannot afford the full rate, please ask us about the scholarship application and reduced rates.
Insurance
Bell Tower Counseling does not currently bill insurance, but we can provide all the necessary paperwork in order to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider. The best thing you can do is call and ask your insurance company how much they will reimburse - sometimes it is as high as 75%. Therapy is also often considered a qualifying expense for reimbursement through your HSA or FSA account.
You can inquire with your insurance by asking these questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is my deductible, and has it been met?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician to see an
out-of-network provider?
Please know that if we do use your insurance for reimbursement, we will need to use a diagnosis code. Some people prefer not to use insurance so that a diagnosis code will not be shared with their insurance company.
Cancellations
Please give at least 24 hour notice for any cancellations. Your appointment time has been reserved for you (we do not overbook). We reserve the right to charge the full session fee for appointments missed without sufficient notice.
